1938 Plymouth P6 Touring Sedan

Flat Head Straight 6

3 speed transmission

This was a complete, frame off, driver quality restoration.

This project was nice for us because the Plymouth was a fully functioning car when we started.   The car had a little over 55,000 miles on it, and 20,000 of those were put on the car in the last 7 years.  Our client clearly enjoys driving his Plymouth.

All one color, rebuilt engine, body, paint, interior, and driveline.  Ready for another 50,000 miles!  And no more mistaking it for a military car!

Newly rechromed Hood ornament

Newly woodgrained dash

The cloisonne on the grille is original.

Spraying the frame.  Notice that it's upside down.  This is because the bottom is visually more important than the top.  When the body is on the top, you can't see any of it!

Putting chassis parts in epoxy primer prior to color.

While the car was operational prior to restoration, we were surprised upon inspection that 2 of the pistons were broken.  Consequently, a full rebuild of the engine along with correct detailing of the components took place.

The Beginning! August, 2007

Here's Dave ready to turn the car over to us.  The Plymouth is nice, but has a number of questionable paint repairs that are distasteful at best.  The Olive Green color on the car leads many people to exclaim "that must be a military car"!

The seats were complete and in pretty good shape for their age.

Even the woodgrained dashboard was a nice representation of originality.
