About Stellar

Our primary name, “Stellar”, was chosen for two reasons related to its definition: We wanted a term describing both the quality of our restoration services and the satisfaction of a specific emotion: a dream that may well have spanned decades of time..

The world over, the song: “When You Wish Upon A Star” has no doubt been sung billions of times in all languages. The essence of the song is: “when you wish upon a star…your dreams come true.”
The child in all of us best described how we wanted to approach our core business: living out lifelong dreams through ”stellar” quality restoration services.

Our Founder

Tim Bowers began his restoration career right out of High School, entering the Antique Auto Restoration Program at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas in 1981. While there, he was able to study under a group of instructors with that special ability to teach skills in metal finishing, mechanics, paint, and upholstery, such as Julian H. “Pops” Rice of Peggy Craft Restorers in Harriman, TN. Graduating in 1983 with an Associates in Auto Restoration Technology, Tim returned home to Pennsylvania to start a job with Al Prueitt and Sons, Inc. While there, he had opportunities to work on such great cars as Packards, Marmons, Cadillacs, and Duesenbergs.

Tim returned to McPherson College in 1988 to pursue his bachelors degree, and enjoyed the opportunity to teach in the very program that began his career, teaching autobody restoration in McPherson College’s program from 1989-1995.

Tim founded Stellar Antique Auto Restorations in 1993 and, since that time, the company has continually been fulfilling that unique and highly individualistic odyssey: Fulfilling the wishes and dreams of car collector enthusiasts and doing so in a “Five Star” fashion.

Over these past 17 years, we have discovered that most of our clients had been seriously considering locating and restoring their “dream car “, a specific car that brought back memories of childhood family vacations, high school dating and going to and from college, the military or our very first jobs.

Such highly personal moments that often trigger reoccurring dreams later in life’s “rear view mirror” when our family, career and life in general seems to be a lot more complicated.

Dream’s Fulfilled

So, Tim and his staff of Restoration Technicians have been assisting scores of clients tangibly see their “dreams come true” through our restoration of their Antique, Classic & Collector cars.
